“Promoting creativity”

ASTERISK ARTS FESTIVAL  is an arts festival organized by ARTS FACTORY club in the University of Energy and Natural Resources to promote the culture of ARTs in Sunyani and Ghana as a whole. This is the 4th major program organized by Arts Factory, subsequently we have organized three programs in Sunyani namely;

Achievements

1. DIFFERENT SHADES OF BLUE
   
   A short play that involved the arts of drama, music, dance, writing and poetry. This program received a massive attendance and is currently the most attended launch of a club on campus.
   This is nothing less than "a must be there" case. It is necessary to come.!!
   
   
   
   
   
   
    
2. BRAND-IN- YOU - an interview show which created an avenue to expose different known and unknown brands in the University of Energy and Natural resources. The show tackled the arts of media and advertisements and managed to expose up to ten (10) brands in the university. Our guest speaker was “Mr. Robert Mensah” the Manager of Eusbett Hotel, a leading prestigious Hotel in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
   
   
   

   3. OPEN MIC SESSION 

   This involved the art of poetry, writing and music. Our guest artiste who gave a spectacular performance was OBJ, a young urban rapper who resides in Sunyani who agreed to partner with the club for the program.

***ASTERISKS ARTS FESTIVAL OUTLINED***

This Arts festival will be one of the first if not the first properly organized Arts festivals in Brong-Ahafo Region. The Arts festival is dubbed “ASTERISK” because of the uniqueness the club will be placing and providing in this festival. The theme is therefore coined from the program name which is “promoting creativity”.

Suncity, another name for Sunyani, is a town that houses untapped abilities in arts, leadership and entrepreneurship. The Arts Factory will be using this platform to register different brands in the festival to brand or sell their products. The festival will also be a chance to display any creative ability to the public for entertainment and network.

This festival seeks to attract Art lovers from far and near and even outside the region to support, partner and participate in the arts and help promote the culture of Ghana to the world. The festival will be a one day program to cover all the different entertaining performances.

Arts factory placed different categories which will house different brands in various tents.

1. Creative arts and fashion category
2. Christian category
3. Social and entertainment
4. Video gaming and games
5. Educative and academia
6. IT and Electronics
7. Food vendors

These categories will include different brands we register into the festival. Aside this there will also be a space for the informal category for anyone who wants to  display any skill or talent to the participants.

SIDE ATTRACTIONS 
OPEN MIC AND OTHER ARTS SESSION : rganized by Arts factory during the climax of the festival, LIVE PAINTING OR GRAFFITI SHOW by any artist. MASQUERADING or FACE MASKS flash mob. This is going to be spectacularly cooooool.

BENEFITS AFTER THE FESTIVAL

• Create a network of Arts lovers such as ( painters, musicians, poets, fashion and creative arts individuals, photographers etc) that can subsequently link up for other programs
• An opportunity for other unknown brands to display their brands to students and individuals that participate.  
• Promote the culture of Sunyani and Ghana as a whole.

The Target group for this festival is for everyone. There will be something anyone can relate to.
