THE GHANAIAN LITERAL DISCOURSE

G-H-A-N-A
These letters spell out my discourse, my experience, or better still my spoken word poem I have delivered to you today.
The truth about life is that everyone is born with what life brings us… you see
Everyone is born with exactly ten fingers… you see
Every man made door is made with a few hinges… you see
So the little girl that lives in Trasaco or the little boy that lives in James Town or probably use me, a young man born and bred from Tm, akasakasa pii that’s what they say see them.
So indeed the different fingers show different people
And with ease we should blend, mingle and be mindful…you see
In the morning the typical Ghanaian will buy Waakye and fish from that known corner
Or will probably buy Hausa kooko and koose from the normal street vendor
Or excuse me some will also prefer that cereal with fresh milk bought from the supermarket
But believe you me the real things I mean the realest will never leave even with a hole in your pocket.
The average Ghanaian worker wakes up in the morning expecting some little change to change his life before dinner
Only to hear on the news that the world market has caused a few turns that have turned his life from the taxi to the Troski to a pedestrian with some mufti, from riches to rags, from grace to grass
He looks up to the heavens will all these things pass
It seems like Strike actions are the only way to get the attention of the referee, because defending with your mouth shut won’t work in this place we call work.
The sweat and toil for the little coins, the hustle and fast life to be a Pro and not a Con
Well if you were already born a Pro with a lots of cash and no one to owe
Dressed in black and white, Tucsido, frank Harris and all of that
Suits and ties, documents and files, rings and aisles, kisses and smiles
You may never see the different shades of blue we all are
Because from afar that is exactly what it seems… blue
They say Ghanaians answer questions with questions
So when I ask you what can you do for your generation? You may answer by saying “what do I have to give”?
But one thing we must realize is that everyone has a part to play,
Every unique ability has a service to render
Because if Our Director gives you a part to play or Our Creator gives you an ability per se
All that will count will be your account offhand offered off head
Ghana needs a new breed of creative minds, minds that seek to brand and not just expire,
Minds that will invent and not duplicate, minds that will give the best presentation the world has ever seen
Minds that will compose the best songs and write the best poems that have ever been heard
Minds that will write the best books and the best articles the world has ever read
Minds that are elastic enough without a breaking point
That serve to solve a problem rather than creating one
Minds that are able to think beyond the borders of Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani, Cape coast, koforidua, Takoradi, Ho, Tamale, Wa and Bolgatanga.
Most of all minds that revere the only written and spoken word of Our God
The Ghanaian Literal Discourse, the best literary piece every Ghanaian needs to listen to.
