THE POLITICAL STUDENT FOCUS IDEOLOGY

Our nation has been independent for 58 years, education has grown in this same pace..... oops i think i meant education has grown at its own pace. Students are the  future leaders of our dear nation Ghana, therefore Students like me make it a point to learn from role models and be examples as well to our generation. Being an SRC public relations officer in the University of Energy & Natural Resources is a chance to learn, influence and impact not just my university but society as a whole.
The division in our nation seeps deeper than class, religion or social upbringing. The division in our nation can be directed to one pivotal structure or Identity known as a Political Party. We are in a dispensation where your political party are aligned to your thought pattern, decisions made and ideologies maintained. Student leadership has been infested with a canker i call the POLITICAL STUDENT FOCUS IDEOLOGY ( PSFI). We associate our developmental plans, campaign strategy or funding to political association. Student leaders are mute when appalling decisions are being taken on a  national level because they are either related to the same political party or connotation and cannot therefore cut short their constant political funding or as we call it "Connections".
If our education sector can be independent and really move at the pace its suppose to, the "PSFI" must be quickly removed and eradicated. Students leaders must be objective in all student dealings and not partisan based in developmental projects, . Our decisions must be unbiased, goal oriented, selfless and visionary for subsequent leaders.

Student leaders are now mostly concerned with short term plans rather than long term ones, our ideals are based on programs rather than projects, we believe more in communiques than implentation policies and finally we feel mandated to defend our positions only when a week's celebration is organised. Pathetic and woeful i must say, but who can be actually blamed the elected or the the people who give the power through their votes?
Paradigm shifting has become a cliche in our nation, students leadership can only go through a paradigm shift if we are ready to be bold, displease a few and envision the future before acting.
I contribute my quota through write ups and publications, I hope you will champion this course and get this POLITICAL STUDENT FOCUS IDEOLOGY OUT OF OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM.
